1. Who we are

12 Dinners, LLC ("12 Dinners," "we," "us," or "our") operates the 12 Dinners website and subscription service (the "Service"). We are the data controller for the personal data we collect about you — meaning we decide how and why your data is processed.

2. Personal data we collect and why

  • Account data — name, email address, and login credentials. Used to create and manage your account and provide the Service (legal basis: performance of our contract with you).
  • Content you create — dinner plans, guest lists, invitations, and notes. Used solely to deliver the Service's planning features (legal basis: contract performance).
  • Support messages — communications you send us. Used to respond to and resolve your requests (legal basis: legitimate interests).
  • Usage and telemetry — pages visited, feature usage, device identifiers, and IP address. Used for security, fraud prevention, and product improvement (legal basis: legitimate interests).

Payment card and billing details are collected and processed directly by Paddle, our Merchant of Record; we do not store your full card details.

3. Who we share data with

We share personal data with the following categories of recipients:

  • Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, analytics, and support tooling providers that help us run the Service.
  • Paddle — our Merchant of Record — for the sale of our products, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
  • Professional advisers — legal and accounting advisers where needed.
  • Authorities — where required by law or to protect our rights.

4. Legal bases

Depending on the context we process your data on the basis of: performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests (security, product improvement, customer support), your consent (where we ask for it, e.g. optional marketing), and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal or accounting requirements. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data, including the rights to access, rectify, or erase it; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in your account page or our support channel — we will respond within one month.

7. International transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside the UK/EEA. Where that happens, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions to protect your data.

8. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and strict access controls within our team.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and make the Service work, and limited analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent sign-in.

10. Contact

For any privacy questions or requests, contact 12 Dinners, LLC via the support channel linked from your account page.
